Welling United boss Jamie Day insists his side’s primary focus will be on gaining promotion to the Blue Square Bet Premier and not breaking records.
The Wings are on an 11-match winning streak in the Blue Square Bet North, having accumulated 33 points since their first win in November last year.
But Day stressed that the team is only focussed on the race for promotion.
“It’s something that is nice to achieve as a club and set of players but we’re just focusing on winning as many games as we can,” he told Kent Online.
“We’re pleased that we’ve broken the record but our aim has always been to try and get promoted.
“It’s something as a manager and players we are proud of and hopefully we can keep it going but every game in this division is tough.
“Whether it’s in the Premier League or the lower levels, to win 11 games on the spin is a great achievement.
“The players have done fantastic to get us into this position and now we have to try and keep going.”
