Salisbury City have announced that manager Darrell Clarke has left the club despite leading them to the Conference National last season.
The Whites secured their return to the top tier of non-league football after a two-year absence as they beat 10-man Dover 3-2 in the Blue Square Bet South play-off final.
But on Friday, the Board of Directors announced that Clarke has accepted a post as assistant manager at League Two side Bristol Rovers.
A statement issued via the club’s official website read:
“Darrell has worked tirelessly for the club over the last 3 years as Manager and his efforts have seen the club gain the recent promotion to the Conference Premier.
“The Board would like to thank Darrell for all his hard work & enthusiasm and wish him all the best for the future.”
Chairman William Harrison-Allan added: “Darrell’s record speaks for itself and he has delivered on his promises. I would personally and publicly like to thank him for his dedication to the club.”
