Spitfires swoop for Odubade

Eastleigh have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of striker Yemi Odubade following his release by Gateshead.

The 29-year-old spent the second half of the 2012/13 season on loan at Forest Green Rovers, but was released at the end of the season along with six other Gateshead players.

Nigeria-born Odubade started his career at Eastbourne in 2003, and has gone on to represent the likes of Yeovil Town, Oxford United, Stevenage and Newport County.

Commenting on the signing of the frontman, Spitfires boss Richard Hill said: “I was impressed with his own personal ambition and his desire to be successful and Yemi opted to sign for Eastleigh as he wants to be with a Club that hold the same ambitions.”

Odubade can also be deployed out on the wing or as an inside forward, and will link up with Eastleigh for pre-season training on July 1.
