Maidenhead United have announced that first-team coach Simon Lane has left the Blue Square Bet South club.
The former Nexxar Lions, Berkhamsted Town and Windsor & Eton coach is looking for a return to management after joining the York Road outfit in 2010.
Magpies boss Johnson Hippolyte, who is already on the lookout for Lane’s replacement, told the Maidenhead Advertiser: “We wish him all the best.
“Simon is one of the top coaches in our league and it’s been great to have him.
“We always knew he wanted to go back into full-time coaching at some point so we both felt this was the right time.
“He has a full level A coaching license and also has an Academy License, he is more qualified than most in the league.
“He wants to go full-time and we can’t stand in the way of his ambition. We would like to thank him for the two-and-a-half years service he has given us.”
