Brown reunited with striker May

Ebbsfleet United manager Steve Brown has made another raid on former club Dover Athletic with the capture of striker Ben May.

The Fleet on Wednesday morning announced they had agreed a £13,000 fee with the Whites for midfielder Daryl McMahon.

And Brown, who was part of the coaching set-up at the Crabble last season, has followed that up by returning to the south-east Kent outfit to sign May.

The 29-year-old scored 21 goals in 40 league appearances last season as Chris Kinnear’s side reached the Blue Square Bet South play-off final, where they lost to Salisbury City.

May only arrived in Dover last summer following his release by Stevenage, but he is excited to be linking up with Brown again, this time at Stonebridge Road.

He told his new club’s official website: “It’s all exciting stuff; Steve Brown showed an interest in signing me as soon as he knew he would be manager of Ebbsfleet.

“I’m currently enjoying a nice little break from football but I’m itching to lace my boots up and get back on the pitch. I look forward to my future with Ebbsfleet United Football Club.”
