Chelmsford City boss Dean Holdsworth has made Christian Smith his fourth signing as he continues to rebuild his new side ahead of the upcoming season.
Smith joins Danny Webb, Tom Davis and Nicky Nicolau at the Blue Square Bet South side, while Robert Edmans has signed a new one-year contract extension.
The 25-year-old Smith, who counts Port Vale, Wrexham, York City, Chester and AFC Telford United as some of his former clubs, won promotion from the Northern Premier League with Chester.
Edmans, meanwhile, first joined City from Witham Town before spending time with Dagenham and Redbridge.
He also spent time on loan with Macclesfield Town, Dover Athletic, and then the Clarets, where he scored eleven goals in 33 appearances – before signing on permanently towards the end of last term.
The 26-year-old has committed himself for one more year.
