Sinclair siblings commit to Whites

Mikey Harris’ first task as acting manager of Salisbury City has been to sign brothers Stuart and Robbie Sinclair to new deals.

Stuart played a major role in the Whites’ promotion to the top flight of non-league football last season after scoring in the Blue Square Bet South play-off semi-finals and final.

The 25-year-old winger, who arrived at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium in the summer of 2011 from Calor League Premier Division side Arlesey Town, has now committed his future to the club for a third campaign.

He told the club’s official website: “I am delighted to be staying at the club after last season’s success. The celebrations at the end of last season were fantastic and I hope we can carry that on this season with the club back in the league it belongs.

“I can’t wait to get back to training and am looking forward to working with Mikey and all the lads again, it’s an exciting time at what is a decent club, with great fans.”

Harris added: “Stuart was fantastic for us last season and showed in the play-offs he has got what it takes to perform in the big games. I think he will improve even further this season and I am over the moon he has decided to stay with us.”

Robbie has penned a new long-term contract having initially joined the Wiltshire outfit in January this year until the end of the campaign following his release by Stevenage.

The 23-year-old midfielder scored two goals in 16 appearances for City on their way to clinching promotion via the play-offs.

He said: “I am looking forward to next season and getting back into training. Obviously the Gaffer has moved on to Bristol Rovers but I’m sure Mikey will carry on where he left off and we will have another successful season.”

Harris commented: “Robbie is a fantastic footballer who brings a huge amount of quality to the game. He can change a game with a moment of brilliance and is experienced at this level as well as the level above.

“The fact that Robbie has decided to commit his future to us is a massive boost for the football club.”
