The league’s governing body, the Football Conference have issued an official statement with regards to Salisbury City.
The statement read:
Salisbury City was recently charged by the Football Conference for fielding an ineligible (unregistered) player in its match against AFC Hornchurch on 12 January.
The documents renewing the loan of Elliot Frear were not received by the Competition Office prior to the player being fielded in the above match.
The Club requested, and received a Personal Hearing, and upon the Club’s own admission Salisbury City FC was found guilty of a breach of rule 6.9, fined £100.00 and had one point deducted from its League Table score.
The Club has confirmed it received a fair & equitable Hearing and will not be appealing the Board’s decision. One point will, therefore, immediately be deducted from the Club’s score.
