White pens new Salisbury deal

Salisbury City have received a huge boost with the news striker Jamie White has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract.

The 23-year-old joined the Whites from Winchester City in the summer of 2012 and has gone on to score 23 goals in the Blue Square Bet South this term.

Commenting on his new deal, White told the club’s official website: “I am really happy to have signed a new deal.

“I am enjoying my football here at Salisbury, the Gaffer, Mikey and the lads are great to work with day in day out and we have a fantastic team spirit.

“We are all fully focused on promotion this season for ourselves and the fans. This is my first full season back in full time football and I know I can improve and hopefully help the team succeed with more goals this season and in the future.”

Salisbury manager Darrell Clarke added: “I am delighted that Jamie has agreed a new deal, he has been excellent this season, he scores goals, works hard for the team and has that little bit of quality that only a few players possess.

“He is the sort of player we want at the football club moving forward.”

White started his career as a trainee at Southampton and went on to make three first-team appearances, while he has also donned the colours of Eastleigh and Totton & Eling.
